Our Contributors and History

The history of Airport Timetables UK goes back to the 1980's when the Midland Counties Aviation Society started to produce an Airport Timetable covering Birmingham, Coventry and East Midlands.

Meanwhile at the same time the Central Scotland Aviation Group was also producing a timetable detailing charter flights to Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Newcastle and Teesside.

In 1984 it was agreed to bring these two publications together and as a result summer 1984 saw the publication of the first edition of Airport Timetables UK.

A winter edition was introduced for the first time in 1989 and then in 1991 Airtime Publishing Limited was formed to bring all our activities together in one organization.

In summer 1994 we published the first issue of a separate Heathrow and Gatwick timetable.

Initially it was possible to include all UK airports in a single publication but the growth in activity in recent years made this an increasingly bulky book.

As a result in 2002 we updated our format so that now Heathrow and Gatwick are included in Airport Timetables UK - Part One while all other UK, Northern Ireland, Channel Islands and Isle of Man Airports are included in Airport Timetables UK - Part Two which also includes a "flight routings" section covering all flights to/from UK Airports - including Heathrow and Gatwick.

2002 also saw the launch of the BHX Flight Guide, which takes us back to our roots with a detailed look at activities at Birmingham Airport.

All our publications are edited by Ian Clapperton, Mike Hollick, and Gordon Stretch.
